SPIRITUAL WARFARE

What is spiritual warfare? At its core, it's the war between good vs. evil. [Spoiler alert: God has already won]

Not a day goes by where we don't experience the fruits of evil: hate, despair, confusion, impatience, callousness, wickedness, disloyalty, abuse, & disobedience.

Unbeknownst to most, we live on a perpetual battlefield. The wars between nations & between people are dust in the wind compared to the actual battle in the unseen spiritual realm (Eph 6:12). What is seen is deceptive. We constantly observe a problem, provide a solution & automatically assume that the problem is solved when we slap a bandaid on it. However, we fail to see the root cause if we do not have a Biblical worldview (2 Cor 10:4).

Filled with pride, Lucifer (satan) tried to exalt himself over The Most High resulting in his expulsion from heaven. Since then, he vindictively perverts God's good creation & fashions for himself weapons to thwart God's plan of humanity's redemption & salvation. He rules over this world because it's broken & full of sin; it has been since Adam & Eve sinned & their relationship with God was cut off. [Spoiler alert: The Son, Jesus Christ, is the way to a restored relationship with the Father.]

When we aren't following God, we are living for ourselves. When that's the case, we do precisely what the devil wants us to. The pain, brokenness, & evil that we see today are not because some people are good & some are bad. It's actually because some serve the Lord & the Kingdom of God while others serve everything that's not God. Satan doesn't want us to worship him; he wants us to worship anything but Yahweh. Evil will never yield. We know this is true by looking at human history. We see the ripple effects of the powers of darkness, with the devil leading the charge.

So how can you identify spiritual warfare in your everyday life?

In every decision you make, are you making it PURELY for the Lord [or] is there something in it for you?
