Have you ever heard the saying: the ends justify the means? If you’ve watched Avengers Infinity War, then you get the idea. Thanos’ quest to wipe out half of the universe for the sake of the greater good is a perfect pop-culture example. The phrase means that morally wrong actions are sometimes necessary to achieve a “morally right outcome.” Essentially, it comes down to playing god.
The term Machiavellianism came from a sixteenth-century political figure named Niccolo Machiavelli. He was known for promoting his "ends justify the means" philosophy of political strategy. He believed that in order to win, politicians & rulers needed to act as if they were playing a game, rather than acting according to moral laws. Machiavellianism creates & capitalizes on crises to consolidate control. For career politicians, crises are necessary, if none exist, they're manufactured. As Machiavelli once said, “you don’t want a crisis to go to waste.” Ironically, Hegel’s dialectic theory (a Marxist fear tactic) was an “improved” version of Machiavelli’s method. Karl Marx used agitators, organizers, & agent provocateurs to create distress among the people until they rioted & caused public fear. He called this “critical theory” because it required the careful study of countries & their groups, labeling of groups as "victims" or "oppressors," in order to pin the proper groups against one another. These men knew that amassing public fear was the ultimate key to the elimination of individual freedoms. This is how free countries are destroyed. Sound familiar?
The Bible clearly speaks against any lying, manipulation, & deceit because it uses trust & love as a tool to advance wickedness. It's sad that this has to be clarified but we are told to not approve of, encourage, or take part in such behaviors (Proverbs 17:4). The devil is the father of lies, it's his weapon of warfare (John 8:44), but ours is Truth, the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17).
