How did this happen?

We decided to sit on the throne in the throne room of our hearts. We did what was right in our own eyes. We consumed to satisfy, to seek pleasure. We were willingly ignorant that our choices & the choices of those around us have consequences.

So what now?

Do we continue ruling our lives & repeating the same patterns because we are limited in knowledge & incapable of selfless decisions?

No, that would render the same outcome. The definition of insanity, after all, is repeating the same mistakes over & over again, expecting a different result. Any variation of the wrong choice, the choice that focuses on self-preservation, will equate to the same outcome.

The problem didn't go south in the middle. The problem started at the beginning. It begins with giving up the throne.

Isn’t it tiring pretending to know everything? Isn't it stressful making decisions when we don't have all the pieces? Doesn't it cause anxiety not knowing what's around the corner?

Give the throne back to the One who is all-knowing & all-powerful. He is merciful, faithful, & just to forgive. Better yet, He will help us clean up the mess we made in the process if we hand over our life to Him.

Do not repay evil with evil. (1 Pe 3:9)

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. (Prov 9:10)

He can turn all things for good. (Gen 50:20)
